ADR This week, probably next as well. Score should be done in a few weeks, then another month of editing and tweeking everything. Then, *crosses fingers* the movie's done!

Rewriting Divine Apathy from scratch, but it's not really Divine Apathy anymore. Trying to start completely from scratch, changed character names and premises, mixed everything up, give it more of an organic feeling.

Re-edited The Crow for no reason other than my own satisfaction.

Sort of stalled with Border City for right now, until we catch up. I'm probably going to re-read the ones we've got and the stuff we've already done before diving back into it. I keep struggling with the next issue's structure, then figure it out, then forget it before I sit down to write.

In the movie about the Runaways, Joan Jett is going to be played by the chick from Twilight, which I'm okay with (mostly because I've been inappropriately attracted to her since Panic Room, and she seems pretty cool). Now I found out Cherie Curry's going to be played by Dakota Fanning, who is the same age Cherie was when she joined. She looks like her, Dakota's a great actress, but I'm disturbed. Dakota Fanning is 15. Also, Dakota Fanning will be wearing white corsets and black panties with garter belts on stage with punk hair -- disturbing all on its own, but more so when I think about the implication that I MIGHT get turned on by anything Dakota Fanning does in a movie.

Anyway, the Runaways were awesome and I'm hoping the music video director they've hired can do them justice. I believe s/he was involved with Marilyn Manson videos, primarily. If s/he did the "Heart-shaped Sunglasses" video, it should be awesome. I dunno, I think maybe Marilyn directed that himself. Either way, F that song but the video was fuckin awesome.

Rough cut of movie going over well with Daniel and runners of RealmsCon. Considering it's not even a finished movie, that's a good sign. Although it still has all that illegal soundtrack.

Plan is to finish the cut with new music and put it online for a year or so completely free (like a sort of online theatrical release, thanx Whedon & Co. for the germ of this idea).

Border City is coming along great. That reminds me, I need to get what I can to Monty in the emails today.

Here in Denver watching CNN play channel 6 New Orleans Gustav news and feeling that weird pit in my chest like when I was here last, which was right after Katrina. It's not going to be all that bad, but I am now seriously considering moving out of NOLA with all my breath so I never have to feel this way at least about whether I get to go home again or if my new project is being ruined by another natural disaster. This is only, in political words, a stop-gap measure, however, in that I will still suffer from New Orleans being fucked over and over and Global Warming will reach wherever I go, eventually.

Other than all that noise, it's been a great time. I was in Denver for DNC, fun since this is like all liberal Obama country and I don't offend anyone or start arguments when I say I'm going to vote for him. Most importantly, no one asks me "Why?"

Dana's wedding was the living shit. Her bridal procession was the theme song from Angel. Denver lets you marry each other, so it was "By the power vested in YOU by the state of Colorado". When the audience was asked for its blessing on the union, we yelled "So say we all!" The recessional for the couple was the end credit song for the game Portal. Dana was completely punk rocked out, with orange and yellow hair that matched her flowers, a white dress without the leg skirt and big black boots. At the reception, the DJ was the couple's iPod, then the wedding party played the Portal song on Rock Band on a huge projection screen and handed it off to everyone else. They made a mix CD for everyone who showed up with all their songs on it, most of which are from Rock Band.

Really want to move to NY. Just seems like where I should be, for more than five reasons. That's really not going to happen, though, unless I get this online film venture to take off like gangbusters, whatever that means. Mixing metaphors is fun!

WebComic version of Border City began today. Ordered proofs of Divine Apathy and Teen Age Waste Land, and movie still under production. Want everything done in time for RealmsCon.

Starting to lose my cool at the drop of a hat, and my defense against becoming my grandmother or mother is that I shut down when I get inappropriately angry, but this is not going to work when leading a group of people toward a common goal. Have to start voicing my opinions when I get them, instead of letting them stew. This is possibly how people like my grandma are created, so ironically, in trying not to be them, combined with the fact that volatile situations make children into introverts, I may be turning myself into them.

Anyway, need to figure out why I can't see the footage from the camera on my computers. Thought the laptop didn't have the right requirements, but the new desktop can't see it either. I need to be the one editing this film. Anyway.

and i could go on and on and on... but who cares?

makes more shit up

I Was a Teenage Prom Queen! starts filming on Tuesday. Working around people's schedules, it shouldn't take more than a couple of months to finish production. *crosses fingers, holds breath, and makes up a god to pray to*

Border City #0 looks amazing from what I've seen so far of it, and I barely wrote anything for Dezzy to work with. Should be done inside of a month.

Teen Age Waste Land is pretty much done, but still need to go through the process of ordering a proof from Amazon and approving stuff.

Rewriting Divine Apathy and deciding whether I wanna release it in separate volumes or as one. Going really well, depends how many pages it is when done.

Another idea of mine has evolved into a revolutionary viral website idea that I will not detail here for fear of the ether giving the idea to someone else with more resources.

Solidified idea for Plastered Wallflowers, my indie film idea about a bunch of friends getting drunk. Sort of Ice Storm, Big Chill feeling, only I'm going to make it about future Grandmasters of Art and Fiction.

MegaCrusher getting clearer. Goodnight, Moon still in idea phase but planning on it being a Werewolf Noir.

All this, and Schizogenesis is still sitting there, being a pretty idea that just lies there.

As if anyone cares?

now i r director of cheese

Idiot Given Yet More Responsibility

So, starting in January, I will be filming I Was a Teen-age Prom Queen! (or: The Girl Who Ate Prom), the teen zombie comedy I wrote after Katrina, bored in the apartment of my friend Dana in Colorado. I predict panic attacks for the next year of my life.

Meanwhile, Teen Age Waste Land is in its final stages, just need to get a proof to go over and fix any problems with it, then it'll be online, and then I need to finish updating Divine Apathy and putting that up as well.

I need to start working on storyboards. All this, and I'm going it alone because Aly's once again incommunicado in NY, refusing to give me anything but nonverbal replies. And I might be going up to NY for New Year's.

I'm gonna have a fucking heart attack, if i even have one after all this is said and done.

sometimes, we get what we ask for. this is when we see how short-sighted and infantile our desires truly are.
